Contact usWe carry a maximum of four pieces per style. When something sells out, it is gone. The floor never feels like a warehouse.
Linen, wool, silk, cotton, cashmere. We do not stock synthetics unless a fabric genuinely cannot be replicated any other way.
Every label on our rails has a documented production story. We visit makers where we can, and we ask the hard questions when we cannot.
The phrase 'capsule wardrobe' has been used so many times it has almost lost meaning. Most versions of it are really just a shopping list dressed up as a philosophy. What Grace means when she talks about a capsule is simpler: a group of pieces that work together, that you actually reach for, and that do not require you to buy something new every time the season changes.

"Grace Micklewright spent eight years as a buyer for a mid-size department store group before leaving to open Birch Citrine in 2019. She trained in textile sourcing in Florence and later worked closely with a small knitwear atelier in the Scottish Borders, which is where her preference for natural fibres and considered construction took root. The boutique grew out of a frustration she could not shake: that most shops stocked either fast fashion or inaccessible luxury, with very little in between for women who wanted to dress well without theatre. Outside the shop, Grace reads obsessively about colour theory and keeps a small vegetable garden that she says informs her seasonal palette more than any trend report."
No appointment needed. Grace or a senior team member is on the floor every day we are open. If you want a longer, more focused session without other customers around, you can call ahead and we will find a quieter slot, but most styling conversations happen naturally during a browse.
When you buy a full-price garment in-store, we note the alteration you need and book you in with our seamstress. Turnaround is usually five to seven working days. The first alteration per purchase is on us. Anything additional is priced per job and quoted before we proceed.
